Our Story
For over half a century, FESP has carried on the Swiss thermal know-how built on precision, proximity, and technical mastery. Still a human-sized company, it continues to innovate with integrated, connected, and tailor-made thermal solutions, aiming for excellence and technological sovereignty.
Foundation
1973 – The company “Fours Gfeller” is founded in Rossemaison (JU) by Mr. Gfeller and Mr. Coradazzi. Active in the manufacture, installation, and repair of industrial electric furnaces, the company lays the groundwork for a recognized local expertise.
Transition and Revival
Over the years, “Fours Gfeller” undergoes several ownership changes, including one by Mr. Emmanuel Selan, who refocuses the business on the repair of all brands of furnaces. It is during this period that Serge Paratte joins the team.
1997 – To preserve the know-how built over the decades, Serge Paratte launches his own company. His objective: ensure continuity while bringing a renewed vision.
1999 – Official founding of FESP – Fours Électriques Industriels Serge Paratte SA, which takes over the operations of Fours Gfeller. This is not a change of course, but a transmission: the technical heritage and commitment to proximity are maintained and carried forward under a new name.
Manufacturing and Growth
By capitalizing on its field expertise, FESP expands its offer to include custom-built furnaces. Reliability, ease of maintenance, and a personalized approach attract an ever-growing industrial clientele.
2005 – The company relocates to Courgenay to support its growth. The workforce doubles and facilities expand.
2008 – First expansion of the production workshops.
2013 – An additional 500 m² is added to meet increasing demand.
Today
2023 – A 180 kWp photovoltaic installation is deployed on the rooftops, generating around 171,000 kWh annually — equivalent to powering 38 Swiss households and avoiding nearly 17 tons of CO₂ per year.
2025 – A new 700 m² expansion and a covered parking structure are under construction to support continued business development.
